Unlike shaving or using hair removal creams, waxing removes the whole hair including the root (the bit that is beneath the skin and not visible). This means you get the smooth look for longer with none of the aggravation that shaving can cause.
Hairs naturally have a tapered end - when you remove this by shaving the regrowth sometimes catches on clothing or becomes ingrowing causing spots and irritation. Remove the whole hair and the regrowth when it does come through is natural and less irritating.
